According to the data of the General Administration of Customs on September 7, 2020, China exported 3.678 million tons of steel in August 2020, a decrease of 498000 tons compared with the previous month, a year-on-year decrease of 26.6%; from January to August, China's total export of steel was 36.557 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 18.6%.
In August, China imported 224.0 tons of steel, a decrease of 366000 tons compared with the previous month, with a year-on-year increase of 131.0%; from January to August, China's total import of steel was 12.189 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 59.6%.
In August, China imported 100.36 million tons of iron ore sand and concentrate, a decrease of 12.287 million tons compared with the previous month, with a year-on-year increase of 5.8%; from January to August, China's total import of iron ore sand and concentrate was 759.915 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 11.0%.
In August, China imported 20.663 million tons of coal and lignite, a decrease of 5.437 million tons compared with the previous month, with a year-on-year decrease of 37.3%; from January to August, China's total import of coal and lignite was 220.753 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 0.2%.
