Brazil's iron ore exports fell 28% year on year in May
Brazil exported 21.5 million tons of iron ore in May, down 28% from the same period last year, according to data released by the Brazilian government on Monday. Vale, the mining giant, is still struggling to restore some production after the brumadinho disaster.
Iron ore exports fell more than 10% in May from April, close to the annual low of 21.2 million tons recorded in March. Novel coronavirus pneumonia is now being used to see the impact of the new crown pneumonia on the output and export of Brazil iron ore.
